Santa Train Coming Back to Freehold
Celebrating the
10th Anniversary
The date for this
year's Santa Train event has been scheduled for
Saturday, December 15th.
Taking a one-day break
from his pre-Christmas activities, Santa Claus will be
spending a few hours with the children of and around
Freehold Borough.
PBA Delegate Ptl. Chris
Colaner organized the first Santa Train event back in
1997 and has run each one every year since. Chris
partners up with the district superintendent for
Northwest Conrail and Freehold Township resident Joseph
Garofolo.
"Without Joe we never
would have been able to pull this off, said Ptl. Colaner."
Freehold Borough's
Santa Train takes place at the Freehold Center Bus
Station located next to the firehouse between West Main
Street and Broad Street.
At about noon, Santa
Clause will arrive on a full-sized Conrail engine and
freight train. He will stop at the bus station
platform and take photographs with every child in
attendance.
Then, Santa's helpers,
Conrail workers and PBA members will help distribute a
toy to each child.
Christmas carols and
holiday music, courtesy of Officer Duane Stasse, will
help make the event the perfect stop for families in and
around Freehold Borough. |
