National Night Out Dates Announced

This year's National Night Out Event is going to be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 and will run from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

The event is sponsored by the Freehold Borough Police Department and is being coordinated by Community Relations Officer Ronnie R. Steppat Jr.

Last year's National Night Out campaign involved citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials from over 10,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide. In all, over 34 million people participated in National Night Out 2006."

The goals of National Night Out are as follows:

  1. Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness
  2. Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime efforts
  3. Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships
  4. Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back

The Freehold Borough event has steadily grown from a small group to a large fun-filled event for children and families.

Look for us in the Hall of Records Annex parking lot on the 7th, and we hope to see you there.
