Comcast Holiday Concert

       On Friday, December 12, the annual Comcast Holiday Concert will take place at 8 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 81 West Main St. The free concert of holiday favorites will feature the Arcadian Chorale and the Brass Ensemble concert band. “The audience is always encouraged to sing along,” Carr said, “and the concert has become a popular event that people look forward to every year.” The performance includes a medley of classical and traditional holiday music and Christmas carols.

Freehold Borough PBA / Conrail Santa Train Event

The Freehold Borough PBA is once again teaming up with Conrail for our annual Santa Train Event.  At about noon Santa Claus will steam into town  aboard a Conrail locomotive.  He will then pose for photos will every child in attendance.  Also, every child will receive a gift.  The event will take place at the Bus Station (previously a train station) between West Main Street and Broad Street.  It is a great event, and all are welcome.  For more information, contact Ptl. Lantern Walk

  On Friday, December 19, the Freehold Center Partnership will host what Carr described as “a charming, guided Lantern Walk through the Borough. Everyone is invited to join the carolers at 7 p.m. at the Park Avenue Grammar School for a candlelight stroll through the streets singing Christmas carols and holiday favorites,” she said. Carr said the walk will conclude at the Hall of Records Plaza with more singing and refreshments, courtesy of The Court Jester and Wemrock Farms.

Menorah Lighting Ceremony

       The celebration will commemorate the start of Hanukkah and the Jewish Festival of Lights with the lighting of the Menorah at the Hall of Records Plaza.

       Bring your gorgeous, carved pumpkin as well as a candle to the Hall of Records on Main Street in Freehold.  All pumpkins are judged in the following categories: best overall, best pattern-carved, and the best of each age category for 5 & under, 6-9, 10-13, and 14 & up.  The event runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Haunted Hayride

       Join us for an exciting, haunted adventure on old-fashioned wagons through the streets of Freehold.  Wagons run continuously from the parking lot of Freehold Savings and Loan on West Main Street beginning at 1:00 p.m.  They will continue until 4:00 p.m.  This event is free and open to all Western Monmouth residents.  Also, there will be free refreshments for all.

Halloween parade

       Traditionally, over 800 adults and children line up for this costume parade at the Freehold Race Track parking lot off Manalapan Avenue.  Prizes are awarded in a variety of categories.  Judging starts and 12:30 p.m. and ends at 1:30 p.m. sharp.  The event is free and open to all Western Monmouth residents.

Tree Lighting Ceremony

       Santa will begin touring the streets of Freehold at 5 p.m., winding up his tour downtown at the Hall of Records on Main Street at 6 p.m. There he will join the crowds gathered for a ceremony to mark the lighting of the holiday tree and the streetlights decorating the downtown area.
